About Bandhavgarh
Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is one of the best places to see the tiger in the wild. Situated in Umaria district on the extreme North: Eastern border of Madhya Pradesh. This tiger heaven is home to the Bengal Tiger. The Bandhavgarh National Park is spread over on area of 448 sq km consists of a core area of 105 sq km and a buffer area of approximately 400 sq km of topography varies between steep ridges, undulating, forest and open meadows.
The density of the Tiger population at Bandhavgarh is the highest known in India. Here you can see wild tigers roaming free amid overwhelming diversity of wildlife.

The terrain is rough cut with abundance of flat topped steep hills, rivers and rivulets, glens that encompass marshy grasslands or chuars. The latter are the hunting grounds of tigers.

Bandhavgarh National Park was the former hunting preserve of the Maharaja of Rewa and at present is a famous natural hub for White Tigers. White Tigers, now a major attraction around the world's zoos, were first discovered in Rewa, not far from here. The terrain is broken, with rocky hill ranges, running roughly east west, interspersed with grassy swamps and forested valleys
In a guided wildlife tour of Bandhavgarh one can see wild tigers, leopard, wild dog and sloth bear. When drama unfolds you see a tiger on a hunt or a pack of wild dog chasing a deer. Bandhavgarh is an exciting birding destination.
Flora & Fauna
The Bandhavgarh National Park is a jungle consisting mainly of Bamboo & Sal trees. There are more than 22 species of mammls. Carnivores include tiger, leopard, gaur (Indian bison), the Asiatic jackal, Bengal fox, sloth bear, porcupine, wild boar, sambhar and spotted deer ratel etc. Around 250 species of birds like little grebe, Egret, lesser, adjutani, saru crane, black ibis etc.

Best Time To Visit
The ideal season for Tiger sighting is from October to June. The park is closed from July 1st to September 30th.

What To Wear
Light clothes preferably in beige or jungle greens in summers with the definite inclusion of cap and dark glasses. During winters, especially between the Month of November and February, carry warm clothing for chilly mornings and misty evenings.
